Where Caring Meets Climate Action

Supporting carers while caring for our world

At Nourish, we believe that caring for our planet should be something everyone can take part in. Our climate action plan is designed to be inclusive, emotionally safe, and accessible for all  especially people living with a disablility along with families with additional support needs. Together, we can create change that feels relevant, creative, and community-driven.

Climate change affects us all, but not everyone has the same opportunities to take part in sustainability initiatives. Families with additional support needs are often excluded from mainstream programmes, and that’s something we want to change. By making climate action inclusive and emotionally safe, we empower every voice to contribute to a healthier planet. When everyone is involved, our impact is stronger and our communities thrive.

    Nourish supporting people and planet

At Nourish, we believe caring for families goes hand in hand with caring for the planet, and encouraging everyday actions like reducing paper use, improving recycling and waste reduction, and making our spaces more energy efficient.

Our Climate Pledge

At Nourish Support Centre, we believe caring for people and caring for the planet go hand in hand. We are committed to playing our part in protecting the environment in ways that are kind, realistic and inclusive, recognising that everyone’s circumstances, energy and capacity are different. Our climate pledge is to:

1. Reduce our environmental impact where we can, through simple, practical actions
2. Use energy, water and resources more thoughtfully in our buildings, activities and everyday work
3. Reduce waste and encourage reuse, recycling and creative upcycling
4. Support families and carers to explore eco‑friendly choices at a pace that works for them
5. Make climate action accessible, avoiding pressure, blame or “one‑size‑fits‑all” solutions
6. Learn and improve over time, knowing that small steps still matter

We know that climate action does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. Every small change at home, in our centre, or in our community helps build a healthier, fairer future for the families we support.

Growing Greener Together

Thanks to the generous support of Fife Climate Hub, Nourish Support Centre has created Our Climate Action Zone especially for the families we support. Our toolkit offers simple, accessible ideas to explore sustainability together from eco‑crafts and gentle outdoor activities to everyday tips that fit around real family life. Everything is designed to be flexible, pressure‑free, and easy to try at your own pace. This project has been made possible through funding from Fife Climate Hub, helping us to support families to take small, positive steps for both people and the planet.
