Bringing Families Together: Fun, Inclusive Activities for Lasting Memories
With funding from The True Colours Trust, we launched a new project designed to provide fun, inclusive activities and experiences for the whole family. Our aim was to create opportunities for families to spend quality time together, away from the usual stresses and strains, and simply enjoy being a family. Building on the success of a similar project previously delivered, and in response to repeated requests from families, this initiative focused on offering engaging, accessible events that bring joy and connection. The funding enabled us to cover essential costs, purchase equipment, and provide high-quality entertainment and activities for children, young people, and their families, ensuring that everyone could participate and feel included.
What We Delivered
10 themed events for children, young people, and families
Over 1,000 attendees across Fife.
Activities included sensory-friendly spaces, creative play, entertainment, and community engagement.
Collaborative partnerships with local organisations, businesses, and charities.
Events held during evenings and weekends for maximum accessibility.
Highlights & Impact
Inclusive Access - Every event featured sensory-friendly environments and quiet spaces, supporting children and young adults with additional needs.
Community Building - Events like the Beach Litter Pick and Bake Off fostered shared purpose and pride. The Teddy Bears Picnic included a sponsored walk, raising funds for future activities.
Collaborative Partnerships - Fife Coast & Countryside Trust, Play on Wheels, Youth 1st, Raith Rovers, Daffodil Dance Studio and local businesses provided in-kind support, prizes, and resources.
