
Climate Champions - How the Challenge Works
A fun, family-friendly challenge where small actions make a big difference and your family can earn a Climate Champion Certificate! Families take part in simple weekly activities that help the planet. Each challenge is easy, positive and suitable for all ages. When all challenges are complete, families can claim their personalised Climate Champion Certificate.

Climate Champion PassportChallenge 1:
Recycling Ranger
Become a Recycling Ranger by sorting your recycling together for one whole week! Families should work together for one week to build good recycling habits. The focus is on teamwork, learning and having fun.
1️⃣Be the Recycling Ranger of the Day and check the bins.
2️⃣Play “Clean It, Bin It, Win It” rinse items and earn points.
3️⃣Try “Mystery Item Monday” choose one tricky item and decide where it goes.
4️⃣Make labels or signs for your home recycling station.

Challenge 2:
Leftover Legend
Become a Leftover Legend by saving food and turning leftovers into something delicious! Families should spend one week finding simple, fun ways to use up food that might otherwise be thrown away.
1️⃣Invent a new dish using leftovers and give it a fun name.
2️⃣Create a menu card for your leftover meal.
3️⃣Make a “Fruit Rescue Smoothie” with soft fruit.
4️⃣Help choose which foods should go in the “Eat Me First” bowl.

Challenge 3:
Switch-Off Superstar
Become a Switch‑Off Superstar by saving energy at home for one whole week!
Children love being in charge of small tasks:
1️⃣Be the Light Switch Leader each evening.
2️⃣Time showers with a fun 4‑minute playlist or kitchen timer.
3️⃣Make “Switch‑Off” reminder signs for the house.
4️⃣Track how many times the family remembered to switch off.

Challenge 4:
Green Journey Explorer
Become a Green Journey Explorer by choosing a greener way to travel! Families should try replacing one vehicle journey with a greener option. Walk, wheel or cycle instead! Children can help make the journey exciting:
1️⃣Create a nature spotter sheet for the walk.
2️⃣Count birds, colours or interesting shapes along the way.
3️⃣Choose the route or pick a “journey soundtrack”.
4️⃣Take turns being the “Explorer Leader”.

Challenge 5:
Nature Protector
Become a Nature Protector by helping local wildlife and caring for the world around you! Families should try to complete one nature‑friendly action during the week. It can be big or small, everything helps.
1️⃣Plant flowers that bees and butterflies love.
2️⃣Build a bug hotel, log pile or mini‑habitat.
3️⃣Leave a small patch of grass to grow wild & create a “Wild Corner” sign for your garden or balcony.
4️⃣Put out fresh water for birds and wildlife.
5️⃣Do a mini litter‑pick in a safe green space.

Once we receive your email, your family earns that week’s badge and moves one step closer to becoming a Climate Champion.
When You Complete All 5 Challenges
After all five badges are earned:
🏅You officially become a Climate Champion
